Samsung is one of the only vendors which is on equal footing or ahead of Google in delivering timely security updates for its devices. As covered earlier that google pixel line of smartphones are getting updated to January'21 security patch, the same has been rolling out for Samsung Galaxy S20 trio of devices aswell.
For the Galaxy S20, the Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered US carrier unlocked variants are receiving the new update with the build number G98xU1UES1CTL5.
Apart from the Galaxy S20, the update is also rolling out for the global Exynos variants of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The new build, tagged as G96xFXXSDFTL1, is currently available in the DBT region, which is Samsung’s code for Germany.
Update 1 : January security update is available for Note 20 series as well
As shown in the attached screenshot, a user got the update on Verizon carrier unlocked model for his Note 20 Ultra as well with build number N9861U1.
