Well, most of us who have auto app updates on play store, this update must have gone unnoticed. But the cautious among us have noticed and brought to our notice that an system app purposed for updating GPU drivers on the latest series of Samung samrtphones had an update in the playstore.
Now, the major thing is that this is not for the smartphones based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon varaint but for the Exynos variant instead. This is a major news as Qualcomm announed that it will also publish GPU driver updates through play store for its Adreno line of GPU's.
As you can see in the screenshots above, two different sources point out to the update being available for them. Sources had it that this update is mainly optimizes three games only:
Call of Duty
Black Desert
Fortnite
However, there are mixed reviews from the users who have installed this update and tried these games. Some are saying the game has become laggy for them, while others are noticing minor improvement.
Update 1: A similar update for Qualcomm Snapdragon variant too
As brought to light by our users, a similar app update through playstore has been submitted for Snapdragon 865/+ powered by phones as well.
The supported number of games also remain three as of now.
